41 weeks - poss. complications/induction

Thread Starter
My BP is up to 150 over 79. Usually it is low-normal (120/60).
There is +1 protein in my urine. I am very swollen all over.
I had my membranes swept today (still only 1 cm dilated but they could actually do it this time!) and now having sharp stabbing pains in my low abdomen every few minutes. Worse when I have to pee, better when I don't. Anyone know what these sharp pains are? I can't move when they happen, they are very intense - 7-8/10 on pain scale. Could baby be descending?

I lost my mucus plug this morning
I also have a pregnancy induced sleep apnea which is driving me crazy at night. Even though I "sleep" sitting up on my side, I wake up and can't breathe and my throat is closed up due to swelling and congestion.

So, they want to see me in 2 days on Sunday to check BP/urine at the birth center. I wanted to have a Foley catheter put in then to help start labor, but I guess depending on my vitals they may induce me with meds. Either way I don't think my body can handle being this pregnant for very much longer.

At least the AFI u/s and the NST looked good today still. 8cm fluid, great fetal HR.

Wow -- it sounds like everything is lining up for you to give birth very soon! I am hoping that your pains are signs that you are going on your own and they won't have to induce.
Sending good birthing vibes your way!

I hear you on the apnea -- I wake myself up grunting and snorting because if I lie a certain way my throat closes up. I CANNOT WAIT to be done with this swelling!!!

I hope this is the end of the road for you with this pregnancy. I too have recently started waking just gasping for air. It's pretty scary. I haven't ever had that before in pregnancy.
