Rescue a failed carrot cake?

Thread Starter
Oh dear, we're going to the in-laws tomorrow and the cake I made failed. It tastes great, but won't remotely hold together and is a crumbly mess. Even thick icing won't bring this back from the dead.

Anyone have any ideas for saving this mess? I don't mind eccentric presentation, and I won't pretend I planned it this way, but if I could turn it around (or make it funny?) I wouldn't feel such a goofball.

Help?

Turn it into a trifle - crumble and layer with whipped cream and fruit (pineapple perhaps?) and sprinkle some pineapple juice on the cake.

Use the crumbs for a thick topping for a big apple crisp.

I say layer it with ice cream, caramel sauce and nuts in tall glasses, or wine glasses...YUM

Parfait! Layer of cake, layer of pudding, layer of cake, layer of pudding.
