I have a bad feeling...

Well, the problem is that I feel too good to be pregnant!! I had mild symptoms but today, NOTHING and I am 6+2 weeks pregnant. I will go buy a pregnancy test and see what the result is. I am really nervous mainly because I was so sick with my first. I have a friend who told me she knew when she lost her baby because the symptoms stopped all of a sudden.
I am not bleeding or anything but I heard the baby can stop growing and not come out for a while. So I wonder, if that is the case, would my pregnancy test be negative or do I have to wait for the US to find out?

This is my first pregnancy, and I'm almost 5 wks and no real symptoms myself so far. So I don't have any answers, but I'm praying all is well. They say every pregnancy is different.

I kind of know what you're going through. I didn't have ANY symptoms of pregnancy with my first child. This morning I got a little twinge of nausea while brushing my teeth, but that's it...Part of me is REALLY happy that I don't have ms or anything else, but a part of me wishes to have the outward, obvious signs of a healthy pregnancy...Good luck and sending happy sticky baby vibes

DDC crashing- I'm sorry you're worried The early part of pregnancy can be really nerve wracking! In the beginning, I didn't have many symptoms except for feeling tired at times and having some food aversions. As the pregnancy progressed, my symptoms increased gradually, with morning sickness starting around 7 or 8 weeks. Also, some women don't have many symptoms at all.

gen24- you sound exactly like me. In my first pg I felt horrible right away, and this time I feel great. You need to get a blood test if you want to know... it's a quantitative test rather than qualitative. If you take a pee test it may still show up positive for weeks even after a chemical. Did you have a beta yet?

well, I went to my spin class this morning and I felt great. On my way back I bought 3 pregnancy tests and took one and it is still very positive so it makes me feel a little better. I guess I will know for sure when I see the doctor on the 27th.
Also, I did some research online and here is what Kellymom says:

"many moms seem to suffer less morning sickness over all when they are breastfeeding. Indeed, some moms say that when they weaned the morning sickness hit the roof. (Does breastfeeding really reduce morning sickness? Sure seems that way, but only a study can tell us for sure.)"

It gives me hope because I still BF quite a bit.

I forgot to say, I called my OB office to see if I could get a blood test and the lady on the phone said they didn't do that. She said I could come in for a pregnancy test but it would be a pee test !?!

Hmmm that is the strangest thing I've heard- an OB office not doing the blood test? Their pee test will tell you the same thing your pee test tells you. The beta tell you how well the embryo is crankin' out the hcg- you need the number to see if you're on track. Personally I am a worrier (see my other thread) after all we went through to get pg. My first pg was so care free I didn't know how lucky I was.
Ask your ob to call the order in to a lab.

I know...I hate my OB office. I just use them for labs (i guess they do blood tests but later in pregnancy) and ultrasound in the first trimester and than switch to a MW. My new insurance (that pays for my MW) will only be effective in January so until than, I have to see my OB

No symptoms here either! I am also bf'ing and am 6.5 wks. I had some VERY light brown spotting so I am a little nervous. Gosh, this is so hard...

Add me to the no symptoms list. It's driving me nuts. I know from reviewing my preg journal from DD's pregnancy that I was starting morning sickness by now, although my memory tells me it was more like 6 weeks (I am 5.0 today). I felt a lot of twingy/crampiness yesterday but today I have nothing. Maybe tender nipples but that's it. It's reassuring to hear others are feeling the same way. So hard not to stress.

Sticky wishes for all of us!! It is so funny how different pregnancies can be eh? I for one do not want to see a symptom for another couple of weeks! (Which should be just about right). I have to go to CA for a midwifery conference and I want to have a blast being away from my son for the first time...I do not want to be sick or tired. I don't mean to sound ungrateful, because we worked so hard to achieve this pregnancy, and I love being pregnant, but the first trimester is not my favorite time.

For what it's worth, I'm now 35 weeks. Not a single symptom like I had with dd in my first pregnancy. I spotted a little as well. I think I was soo relieved to not be vomiting all the time (and I truly expected that the minute I admitted that I wasn't having the nausea and vomiting, that I would jinx myself!), that I didn't feel the anxiety of worrying what the lack of symptoms could mean.
Hang in there for your appointment. I think you could go to a primary care physician and they would run a blood-based hormone test (probably make you come in for two, a few days apart to compare numbers) if your OB office won't offer that. Best wishes.
