Where is everyone at with weight gain and clothing? - Page 3

I am amazed to read about the variation among all of you! I am up about 10 lbs at 19 weeks. I don't really restrict my food in general when I'm not pregnant (if I'm hungry, I eat), so I feel like my body is just sort of gaining weight on its own. It's a strange and disorienting feeling, I must say.

As for clothes, I am fully in maternity clothes. All of my pants pinch too much when I sit down (and some pinch when I stand!). I am wearing mainly maternity shirts, too, mostly because they are more flattering than wearing my regular shirts. I especially like the shirts that emphasize the bump and make it look all cute.

In maternity clothes and as far as weight, I'm sure I've lost. Haven't weighed myself to see. I always lose weight while pregnant so I can't see how this time would be any different.

I love the bump emphasizing shirts too! Anything too flowy or tent like just makes me feel fat.

I agree! I have been very excited to have my belly pop out a bit so that I actually *look* pregnant. The maternity shirts definitely emphasize the bump.

Here's a pic from my last pregnancy at only 27 weeks: http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...7plusweeks.jpg and then at 39 weeks: http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...en/39weeks.jpg

It just went straight outward.
Best photos ever! What an awesome pg belly!! I'm one of those tall/long torsoed girls who takes forever to look truly pregnant. My fundus is still well below my belly button at 19 weeks! I can't wait till I feel justified in wearing these maternity clothes.

Aww. thanks. He seriously looked like a little (or, uh, not so little) basketball under my shirt. I got a lot of comments about that.

I'm 18 weeks tomorrow and at my appt last week, I had gained 10lbs.

Not in maternity clothes yet, but I am in my "bigger" shorts that I was in after giving birth the last time.

Some of those, I'm finally starting to grow out of, but it really helps that I trimmed down before getting pg. Even though I didn't lost weight, I had lost lots of the "extra" fluff, so I started off in smaller sizes this time around which is why my bigger shorts/pants still fit.

Only recently have I really been having to put shorts away (the ones that no longer button up). So different from the last time when I was so glad to have comfy maternity shorts at 11-12 weeks.

My tops I'm also starting to put away, but still fit my normal t-shirts and some of my more fitted shirts, though those totally show my "bump" now. I only wear those around people who already know I'm pg. Around people who don't know, I wear regular t-shirts and most of them still can't really tell I'm expecting.

Man, I'm jealous of your climate. I'd totally just wear dresses all the time. i hate wearing stockings, though, so they're not so good here. When I was pregnant w/Ds (born in July) I wore dresses for the end of my pregnancy like, all the time... so much easier than trying to make the pants fit...

I still wear my regular pants but I have a pair of maternity juicy jeans because they're super comfy and I figure I can get used to them now.. I've just been wearing large shirts and I actually wore a t shirt dress as a shirt :-X I felt huge thinking about actually wearing it as a dress within the past year.. and now my belly is all popped out in it.

I'm 17 weeks - and still wearing regular clothes (although the jeans button is annoying). My maternity jeans are huge, and I don't see myself wearing them anytime soon. I've gained about 5 pounds.

I'm almost 20 weeks..I've gained about 12-13 pounds...not really keeping track though. I'm 5"4 115 lbs normally, so I tend to put on weight pretty quickly when pregnant. I'm busy The smalls in maternity clothes fit me pretty well, but I'm sure I'll have to up that to a medium or maybe large as I grow.

I'm 19 weeks and have already gained 10 or so lbs- yikes! This is my 4th baby though and I already feel very pregnant- way more so than with my others. So, yes, in mat. clothes already. Can't find half of them though, so I'm making due with what's easily located. With my others, I only gained 21-30 lbs.

My mat. jeans are huge too! Why is that?! I'm craving a good old pair of neutral jeans right now, but there's no way I can handle the big mat. panel on mine. I think I need to shop

My belly totally "popped" this week and I very obviously look pregnant, now. I should post another pic. LOL

I'm wearing a non-maternity shirt, but it's tight and keeps showing the bottom of my belly even though it's a longer-length shirt.

This makes me feel much better! I am about the same size as you pre-pregnancy and I didn't gain a pound 1st trimester, but since then I've put on 12 really fast. I feel like my eating and exercise habits are pretty normal, so its been weird to watch my weight jump so fast, but I hope its because the baby needs it.

I look like I'm 30 weeks. I was crying yesterday getting ready for a date with DH cause none of my clothes fit right, and I'm bigger now than I should be. The less I have to leave the house the better, it means I can live in jammies.

Awww, I'm sorry you feel bad! I don't feel so hot, either. I had a dental appt the other day and I'm large for dates (measuring 22/23 weeks at just under 19) but the hygeinist who walked me back and did my teeth apparently just thought I had a huge belly!!! She was surprised when I told her I was pregnant. That, of course, did NOT make me feel good. I don't even know how she could make that kind of mistake - I'm not overweight or anything, but apparently I look overweight right now.

I did get my official weight yesterday, so I know I've gained about 14 pounds.

I'm 22 weeks today and I can still wear normal jeans. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't (mostly, I feel like I need to justify all the maternity clothes my mom bought me! eek!). The maternity pants are big and fall down (I do have a pair I love from Motherhood with the stretchy stuff all the way around which is super comfy, but falls down). I do sometimes wear maternity shirts because I just look a bit 'thicker' around the middle, and the empire-waisted-type tops look more flattering

As far as weight, I lost 10 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight and I've gained about five back, so I'm still down five pounds. (I only know this because in the last year before getting pg, I had lost quite a bit of weight... we don't have a scale in our house, but MIL does, so I'll weigh there ). I also tend to bake big babies (all around nine pounds, one over even), so when it's all said and done, I often come out LIGHTER after pregnancy.

Pregnancy is very good to my body. It's the in-between times that are harder on me

Ahh, this is making me nervous. I've gained 15 lbs at 20 weeks. I have my first appt. with the midwife on friday so I'll see if she is concerned. I fit into tops that are long and one pair of jeans but most everything else is maternity- therefore I just wear the same clothes every day. lovely.

Me too...well, not totally, but to me it's all of a sudden gotten bigger and I'm at the point where I'm having trouble finding things to wear. My old maternity stuff, for the most part, is too big (though a few days ago I did fit quite nicely into a shorts I wore early the last time).

Very soon I will have to put all my "regular" shorts and pants away and my fitted shirts and start wearing maternity stuff...and I will need to go shopping because I need clothes that will be appropriate for work which, this time around, happens to be more dressy than just shorts and a t-shirt.
