favorite pattern for sewing recycled longies/soakers

I am going to make some longies from recycled wool sweaters and am looking for input on your fav pattern. Also, does anyone know if 80%wool/20%nylon will work? I saw on woolybottoms website that it is not accepted for their sweater purchasing program. thanks!

80/20 blends work just fine, I have a few pairs that are 80/20 and I've never had issues with them. For longies, I use both just the sleeves, and I also do a Katrina pattern hybrid. I do the katrina pattern for the soaker and waist, and then do long legs, like an aristocrat. I also like finding turtleneck sweaters, and then using the turtleneck for the waistband.

I search at thrift stores, but I have my best luck at garage sales, in particular church garage sales. Up here, the churches tend to do bag sales at a certain time during the sale. So at a bag sale, I can get sweaters for less than 50cents each.
