Birth Announcement ideas for a Homebirth

Did anyone do anything different or special for their homebirth Birth Announcement? Or, does anyone have any cute sayings for announcements they want to share?

I've never posted on here but I love reading all of the info and posts!

anyway we had our homebirth 6 weeks ago and this is the announcement I made for our daughter...http://www.liapearsonblog.com/2009/10/rosalie.html

the only thing I added for our homebirth was "born at home" above the date. I didn't want to draw all of the focus to it but I did want to put something on there.

We didn't see a reason why that information should be on the birth announcement.

We also just added "born at home" to the rest of the info (date/time, height, weight, etc). I thought that was a nice and subtle way to pass the information on to aunts and uncles and cousins who didn't know of our plans.

I designed our birth announcements months ago - just waiting around for the baby. After his name, it says "born at home on (date) at (time)" and then it will list his weight and length.

We also wrote "Born at Home"

I was proud that we had a homebirth and wanted to share that news with family and friends.

When I had my second daughter she was born at home. I had my other daughter announce it. The announcement said: Big Sister Hollie is thrilled to announce the arrival of her sister Haylie who was born peacefully at home on...
We also used the same announcement for the local newspaper.

I wish I had a copy of ours on this computer....

When DD was born we put, in small print on the top: "After 5 laborious days..."
then her photo, large print name and stats
Then again in small print at the bottom "...was born at home surrounded by family."

That is very cute and creative.

For our birth announcement we just said Born at home on October 20 and so on. We mentioned big sister Charlotte in with our names.

I have had all three kids at home, and plan on another homebirth with this baby, but the last child's announcement was the only one that I mentioned having a homebirth. My midwife loved it! She said she'd never had that done for her before, being mentioned like that felt so personal to her, like we included her in front of our friends and family.

I was happy to share how our child was born and have had comments made to me by friends who are normally unfamiliar with weird stuff like "home birth", , like that since I have had home births, they seems more normal to them. I am all about educatin', and this is one more way I can show normalcy to others, and reaffirm it to myself, like I don't have to "hide" it or something. To each their own, right?

I just wrote the baby's name, data, and the words "Born peacefully at home."

I did the "born peacefully at home" too. Our first baby was a home birth-turned-cesarean so I was doubly proud with my second attempt. :) I knew that not everyone would appreciate too many details (my family is very private, and thinks that birth in general is messy and gross, and homebirth is just plain weird) but I just HAD to brag a little. ;)
