Are There Any Raw-Foodists Out There?

Hey all,
I was just wondering if there are any other raw-foodists out there. I could really use some support. I've been transitioning to raw foods for about 3 months now. I don't personally know any other raw-foodists, and my husband is not going raw, so I'm feeling pretty alone in my venture. I could really use some recipes that actually TASTE GOOD too! I've wasted too much time and money only to throw things away. For this reason I'm still not 100% raw, I get hungry eating fruit all day!!! I'm also transitioning my kids who are 7, 3, and 10 months.

Are there enough raw-foodists out there to have our own raw section in here somewhere? That would be simply rawsome

Well, this may or may not help I'll try. I was 100% raw from Jan. 08 to Dec 08 when I became pregnant with horrid morning sickness. After that it was pretty much eating whatever to survive. I intend to get back into it slowly now that my baby is here. The biggest helps for me were http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/index.php and there's a Raw Kids yahoo group with family food ideas, too. Depending on where you live there might be raw potlucks going on, too. Good luck! Oh yeah, I also love goneraw.com for recipes. Check out the chia pudding on there...it's amazing!

Yes, but not a vegan raw foodist. I follow the Primal Diet of Aajonus Vonderplanitz, so I doubt I can be of help.

Hey there, fellow struggling raw fooder! I've been on/off raw since March. I, too, have trouble figuring out what to eat. But then, I've always had trouble figuring out what to eat, no matter what my dietary guidelines. I would love to bring my family on board with this and be the model 'raw family', but I would settle for knowing what to make myself for lunch, you know?

I can't help much in the recipe department. I eat a lot, (and I do mean a lot) of romaine lettuce dipped in raw pesto. A snack my 5 yo, vegetable eschewing son now frequently eats with me, (yipee!). My newest dietary upgrade has been green smoothies. I drink one for breakfast most mornings. It's the best way I've found to begin the day. Also, if the rest of my day slides into the food badlands, at least I had a good start, right?

I'm having much more trouble keeping on the raw side of things since the temperature started to drop. From all I've read, that's pretty normal. How about you?

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and lend my support. We're doing great things for ourselves and our loved ones by fueling our bodies with good food. Try not to stress about not being 100% raw, 100% of the time. I think if we live in gratitude, have some compassion for ourselves and for our choices, and step forward with awareness, an open mind, and an open heart, then we're moving in the right direction. And, after all, isn't it all about the journey?

Cheers!
