I was having consistent contractions all Thursday. Nothing too intense, but I was hopeful I was actually going into labor. In the evening the contractions stopped, and was replaced by a dull ache across my pelvis. It remained there all night and into the next day. I couldn’t stand for too long, and I was discharging copious amounts of mucous. I was actually getting worried that I had an infection or something was going wrong. I called the midwife Friday morning and she said to come in. I got up there about 1pm. After telling her my symptoms she checked me. I was dilated to 7cm. I was still walking and talking just fine, so she had me walk and use the breast pump. I hadn’t dilated any farther after a couple of hours. We decided to break my water. Things became very intense, very fast. At 6:38 I pushed out my little boy. I was only in active labor for only about 40 minutes or so. I felt like I pushed for forever, but they said I actually pushed for less time than either of my others, but this also the first time I had absolutely no drugs at all. I tore pretty bad, but the main thing that bothers me is my abdominal muscles. I’m belly binding and that helps greatly. I’m still in awe of how quick everything went. My first labor was about 29 hours and my second was about 11 hours. Now I have a labor that was only about one hour, but was more manageable than either of the others.
