So, DH and I have decided NOT to TTC until we got some financial and other things in order, and were actually TTA this month (I REALLY didn't want to conceive this cycle) and lo and behold, I Od early (like 5 days early) soooo, now we are in the running. I don't know whether to or . but I definitely feel

This should be interesting.

I know you have mixed feelings now, but I am totally rooting for a strong BFP for you because that's what you want in your heart of hearts. Also, if I can do it with the agony I'm going through, you guys will be okay. Babies don't cost much the 1st year if you breastfeed anyway, and financially, you never know what is right around the corner.

If you breastfeed, cosleep, cloth diaper and make their solid foods out of the foods you eat... the baby should only cost the cost of the cloth diapers, clothing, car seat and any slings/strollers you may want for carrying baby in. Assuming you have loving family and/or friends, that cost could potentially be reduced to 0 by one simple baby shower.

I am more concerned with the midwife fees, plus the labwork. My mw won't see me unless I get the screening. I could do without an ultrasound, but they have to do the initial blood draw (over $700 for the initial stuff) and if I decide to get an early us for my peace of mind , then that is god knows how much. I still haven't gotten the bill for mine with this mc I am not sure how much of the 10k i will have to pay from last time, but at least 5k, probablt more. It would've been less expensive to have the baby for sure.

I spent next to nothing with both DD and DS in the first year (except the little pretties I wanted ) I spent very little the second year as well, because I made most of the food they ate.

The real costs happen when they are my kid's age (9 and 14)
"mom, I need a new skateboard"
"mom, my shoes are too small"
"mom, I need a new hoodie, mine don't fit anymore"
"MOM, I'm HUNGRY"

but I guess as it is written, in my heart, I want the BFP. I did have a dream Oh well, life is funny the way it works out. What are the odds that I O early this month. I thought for SURE that we were safe going from previous months, and I got STRONG O twinges on the morning after the last BD (A good and magical BD I have to say ) and they went on for the whole next day and then I had my characteristic lack of interest in sex.

I wanna test, wah!

Here's my plan this month -dtd on CD 19, as last month I had EWCM start to appear from CD 16 and thinking EWCM meant you are Ovulating on that day...I dtd on CD 16. So this month, if I get EWCM again from CD 16 -hopefully it will be a good time to dtd on CD 19. Sound good?
well, if at all possible, its best to DTD daily rather than just once.

Alright so I POAS yesterday and today, both negative. I will continue POAS till 12dpo then discontinue my progesterone and call the cycle a bust. I am not sure if I will continue TTC at that time. I will probably just be "open" but not "trying intentionally" like this cycle.
I probably should wean William before TTC again (he's 2), as the last 5 years have been the following, pregnant, nursing (GF, DF, soy, corn, eggs free), pregnant and nursing (same ED), tandem nursing (GF, DF) and now just William nursing - but maybe I need to take some time and just go away for a while (a weekend or something) sans kids and have a minute to myself to refresh. Sister weaned 34 months.
Thanks for being my ears!

I follow a GF diet for CD Are your DC just sensitive to those proteins or do they have CD? Do they eat that way now or did they grow out of it? Sorry to be nosy but I am worried about my dc with the whole genetic thing

Not for CD. It was because Annabelle was sensitive, then had a stomach/intestinal paralyzing virus that resulted in the temporary development of multiple allergies and severe weight loss (from 30th percentile to 3rd). She outgrew them over time. William was sensitive to gluten and dairy. He won't drink dairy, neither will I, but tolerate yogurt, cheese, butter, ricotta fine. Gluten no longer causes him problems either.

ETA: I'm having fairly bad pelvic pain at least a 5 (1-10), I broke down called the OB for it. I had a funny smelling d/c but that's gone no itching, no irritation. Now I just have the pain and when palpitated is where I would approximate my uterus to be. So I get to go in tomorrow to check for WTH is going on down there with kids in tow....fun. Maybe I am pregnant, that would be wonderful in its own right, shy of the pain. Although I have a fibroid and this pain is SO similar to what I was repeatedly sent in for IV pain meds for during my first pregnancy (grapefruit sized - now the size of a pea at last US).

ETAA Maybe I'll go pee on another stick for S&G.

You are supposed to BD on the days you HAVE the EWCM. That is the fertile stuff that help keep the swimmers alive and take them to the egg.

samy23 - welcome back to TTC, even if it was just a little "TTC freak out"...hope your stay is short!

Lyndzies - hi there cycle buddy! My temp was actually down today...I was hoping maybe implantation dip? Your chart looks awesome! Funny, I just realized that we're really true cycle buddies...cd1 on the same day, slightly late O and everything!

Best of luck to everyone else in all their stages of waiting!

AFM - I am 5 or 6 dpo today. FF keeps changing my O date from cd17 to cd18. In fact, if I override to "research" mode it goes back to cd18. At one point it even had it at cd13! I think the EWCM and my ovulation pain on cd18 is what is messing things up. I put a poll up, anyone care to weigh in?

We went apple picking today, and while I'd normally be annoyed like heck being around crowds of screaming children, I actually wasn't. I thought all of them were so cute! Maybe a pg sign?

Liz, It sounds like Bacterial Vaginosis to me. The uterine pain could be just physiologic hormonal cramping or it could be something like PID. Have you ever had BV or PID? The fibroid just throws another link in to the mix. Glad you are going in to have it checked out. BV Is usually harmless but I think it causes your vaginal pH is off so it may effect TTC. GL

Does anyone else experience hot flashes when they've just conceived? 3dpo to 5dpo (when I turned out pregnant) I get intense hot flashes at night, waking up sweating, and during the day I have constantly flushed cheeks and ears when the rest of my body can feel cool (more my normal). B/c I temp, I know that I don't have a fever- temp is perfectly normal! I keep wondering if I'm getting sick, which was exactly what I wrote in previous cycles that ended with BFPs!

I am 4dpo now, and last night I had to change my pajama shirt b/c it was so gross. I've not heard of this as a common experience with friends...just curious what you think of it.

These days are ridiculously slow...amazing!

And kids ARE incredibly expensive when they are older...yes, food alone is the big one! Jeez I can't believe how much we spend at the food store! We buy used everything and keep the whole experience as cheap as possible so we can try and afford sending the older two to private school. That raises the bar a lot!! I remember last year feeling sort of frustrated by people telling me that children were really cheap...especially with many, that's not my experience. The main reason is that the children affect my ability to work, so it's like losing all that potential income as well.

Beloved, money was about 25% of our reason to have an unassisted birth last time. Midwifery care is expensive! We have a very close, good hospital here, and I had three already, so I felt good about that choice. I always said if something came up out of normal for me, I'd seek help. But it all went fine.

Erm, no. I have to disagree with the bolded. Untreated (due to idiot doctor) BV is why I had umpteen weeks of bedrest and a premature baby when I was pregnant with DD. It is NOT harmless, especially in pregnant women.

That's why I said usually. But yes I know very well about the correlation between BV and PTL. Liz is not PG yet (that I know of) so I was just trying to reassuring her in case I scared her. Everything I have read say similar things but here is the gist:
Quote:
Complications or consequences that sometimes occur when bacterial vaginosis is present are:

* Having bacterial vaginosis at the time of exposure to HIV increases the risk of developing HIV.
* Bacterial vaginosis increases the risk that women with HIV will transmit the virus to her sex partner.
* Increased susceptibility to sexually transmitted diseases or STDs such as Chlamydia and gonorrhea.
* Increased risk of developing pelvic inflammatory disease during hysterectomy, abortion, and other types of pelvic procedures or surgeries.
* Increased risk of complications when BV occurs during pregnancy.

Can I be moved to Waiting to O?
Well, I know its early in the morning and by posting this I am just asking for AF to come while I sleep tonight...but...I was staring at my chart one last time before bed and at the bottom in "summary" it says this:
"You are past your usual luteal phase, you may take a test, you may be pregnant!"

Oh, if only!! Keep your fingers crossed that AF stays away tonight.

I'm starting to think I'm getting a tummie bug. I sat in the car and got sick--we did't even turn it on yet. I keep thinking I'm going to upchuck, but my record's clean so far.
