Struan was born at home at 11.42pm on 10/10. I'd had a bloody show in the morning and increasingly strong contactions throughout the day. While trying to rest on the sofa my waters popped at 8.45pm. I then spent an intense few hours in the tub supported by DH, my midwife and doula. After a rapid transition I made it to my bed where I wanted to try and rest - Struan had other ideas and made his entrance after only 3 pushes. Surprisingly my other two boys (in the next room) slept through the whole thing. Struan has nursed well and weighed in at 8lb 14oz. I can't explain how happy I am that I managed to have the birth I wanted, we're resting in our own bed - how amazing is that?!
