Im almost 39 weeks and I am SOOO ready so I can only imagine how you feel! Plus it doesnt help that EVERYONE kept saying Ill go early so now for the past week I am constantly getting phone calls asking if the baby is here yet. Um hello, I WILL LET YOU KNOW! Do people really think that you are so caught up in the new baby that you will forget to let them know? I can only imagine how they are going to be if I go overdue! Sigh. . .

I had a horrible night last night. I could not fall asleep for hours so I tossed and turned then I finally fell asleep and of course had to get up to pee. . Then at 4am I woke up with a stomach ache so I tossed and turned some more. Now I just feel like poo cause I got so little sleep. DH is at church so I put some veggies in the crockpot to start cooking to make some potato soup later for lunch and I think Ill hang out on the couch now.

Shannon: Sorry to hear you had a hard night last night....I was right there with you! Hang out on the couch as much as you can.....soon that will all change

Somehow, someway I have to find the energy to mop and wax our kitchen floors, go to the mall to return some pants, go grocery shopping, finish the laundry as well as do some homework. Normally....not a problem, but now it feels like an insurmountable task....ugggghhhh.

Good night last night, but UGH.. I can't find any comfortable position at all today. Sitting hurts my ribs, standing hurts my back.

it's hard to keep up with all the new birth threads that pop up every day, so here's blessings to everyone who gave birth last week!

Shannon - I had a similar problem yesterday morning. Woke up at 5am in a panic attack after falling asleep sometime after 1am the night before. Felt like crap the whole day. If you can, take it easy today and don't try any home repair like I did (damn leak under the kitchen sink last night!)

I'm 39 weeks today. More and more prelabor every day. I'm taking it as a good sign that i might actually pop around my EDD and that with all this work my body is doing ahead of time, actual labor will go quicker than I expect. It would be nice to have my LO earthside before my birthday on the 21st

Sounds like a bunch of us have had a crappy couple of days! Hope you all are feeling better today! I think this afternoon Im gonna talk DH into going on a walk. Maybe that will help me feel better. Good news is that if baby doesnt come before tomorrow my midwife said at my appointment tomorrow morning she will do a exam and see if anything is going on. So thats encouraging cause I would REALLY like to know if something is happening anytime soon.

Still waiting........Was bleeding, but that stopped. It was from pelvic exam, not bloody show like I thought. Oh well!!

I had a crappy night, too! My 21 mo old had zero interest in sleeping before midnight or after 4:30am, AND, he would not detach himself from my nipples. My nipples are sooOOOooOOooo sore, as they have been since about 37 weeks, that it feels like he's sucking on an open wound. So very un-fun. I get a lot of labor breathing practice through the pain though.

My dh has been super awesome though. He's really taken over sooo much of the household & kid care stuff. He's even doing all the errand running & shopping. I'm so grateful.

I'm 39 weeks today, too! My last was born at 39w2d. Wouldn't that be splendid to repeat?? C'mon baby!

I am so so so anxious to meet this baby! It's driving me crazy how much I want to SEE him or her, find out the gender & cuddle & pet him/her. Omg I'm so excited! And impatient!

Yesterday was a loooong day. DS (almost 3) threw up twice and got progressively crankier until he crashed out at 5:30 pm feeling hot and with a runny nose. He didn't sleep well so I was able to give him tinctures before 5 pm and twice during the night, so hopefully we nipped it in the bud. I've been so ready for my LO to make her appearance and now I'm worried about getting sick right before I go into labor. I've been pushing tinctures on DH since he got home from work yesterday and I've taken so much astragalus that I feel hot.

At my last midwife visit, baby had switched from LOA to ROA so I've been trying to encourage her to switch back. Not sure how much of a difference it'll make, but after have a posterior baby last time, I certainly don't want her trying to rotate around through posterior while I'm in labor!

Do homebirth folks think it's appropriate to give the midwives small gifts to say thanks?

Huck - I have been wondering this too about the midwife gift. I am also using a Doula so Im wondering if I need to get something for her too. they are both amazing and I would love to get them something but my mind is totally blank. I thought about a gas card since they both drive so much but they are both over a hour away from me so I am not sure the gas station companies they have so I could get one they can use. Otherwise Im just stumped as to what to get?

Dh and I dtd this afternoon and now I am soo crampy and my lower back and stomach are very uncomfortable. The cramping is very irregular so I know its not labor contractions but gosh. Im almost in pain! Lol

I'm home from the baby shower. .. and I'm glad to be home. It went exactly as I thought it would. No one showed up.

I'm ready to just have this baby and be done with it. And hope no one ever, ever tries to throw me another party as long as I live.

Oh and there was no redeeming value in gifts either. My sister in law got me a few used things that reek so much of smoke that I can't bring them in the house. *sigh* At least the cake was pretty.

Just wanted to pop in and say hi. I don't want to post an update on myself because I don't want to jinx it. My football team won today so that's good! My husband's team got demolished!! 44-7!! ROFL!

I'm having some pretty strong contractions.

And for the very first time I am completely nervous! I'm kinda scared here all of the sudden instead of impatient! I'm shaking a little.

This could be something. Or maybe not.

I'm going to start timing them now.
yikes.

Lost a bit of plug today. It's not much, but I'll take it over the massive amount of *nothing* that I have otherwise...
