Bringing in outside plants and cats...

My basil and oregano plants are still doing really well and I want to bring them in for the winter. However, Mr. Siamese cat, Beethoven will eat it and then puke.

Has anyone had good luck with bring in plants and keeping cats away from it?

The other option is my MIL has offered to take the plants for the winter. But it will be a PIA when I need some fresh.

I have no advice for the cat aspect of your question but when I brought outside plants inside last winter I spent the entire winter battling fungus gnats. You might want to repot with sterile soil if bringing them inside.

Hope that helps a little
