At almost 2 yo, my unvaccinated son had a febrile seizure during an illness, but never had a febrile seizure again and he just turned 7.

At 3, though, he had a grand mal seizure unrelated to fever, full MRI/blood work-up/spinal tap/EEG (poor kid!) and nothing showed a problem, he checked out normal, and has never had any other seizures past that experience. Some kids experience seizures and just grow out of them, it is actually more common than one might think. I know it surprised me!

My unvaxed DD had a febrile seizure. We don't do fever reducers either.

I think there must be a genetic component. My DD would spike high fevers very fast. We got up to 106 and she has never had a febrile seizure. My DSs have also had really high fevers without seizures. My dear friend's two daughters both had seizures several times with fever spikes only up to 103. According to both my MIL and my Mom, both DH and I had them as infants. DH had them several times, I had one with Roseola. It's a mystery to me...Interesting stories though.
My family does not use any antipyretics. We do use homeopathy for illness though.

Fevers

Febrile seizures can occur in anyone vaxed or unvaxed
It usually due to a rapid rise or fall in temperature - so using tylenol or cooling is not a good idea

ALLOW the fever - the body does it for a reason!

Use of tylenol just fights the body and depletes glutathione which the liver makes to help detox. Vital in illness.
