help choose a knitting project

i have 12 skeins (100g, 182 yds each) of a shetland aran wool/alpaca blend in a pretty brown. i bought it ages ago to make a sweater for myself that never happened, and that pattern no longer excites me.

can you inspire me with ideas? i really want to return to knitting, but have no $ for yarn. i would like to use what i have. what would you do with this yarn?

i am a beginning/intermediate knitter (e.g. i'm not scared of cables, but i can't do sweater finishing on my own).

thanks!

I would suggest a blanket. It would be really heavy and warm, perfect for putting the whole family under. You could create it in a pattern for leaving as is, or you could make it extra large and felt. I wouldn't suggest cables on a blanket though, because it would take forever.

You could also make a whole bunch of hats, then give them to different people (so no one will suspect that you created a bunch of matching hats). Unless you gave them to a family that would think it was cool to match.

What about the central park hoodie? It's a cute versatile and easy knit.

How about a top down sweater or cardi? No worries about finishing (seaming) and you can really adjust it to fit just perfect. YOu could dress it up with some buttons or a few stripes at the top w/ some stash yarn.
