Anyone want to play baby names with me? (BTW, we are not actually picking the name based on the results of this post! )

The middle name spot is taken by my last name. Both my last name and DH's last name (which will be the baby's last name) hare two syllables. His last name starts with an S.

(We're pretty set with a boy's name list at this point: Theodore, Harrison, Atticus--that's in current order of preference.)

Feel free to make other suggestions or make fun of my choices!

I voted Josephine 'cause I LOVE Josie as a nickname. Second choice from your list would be Amelia.

My thoughts, exactly.

Thank you all for playing!

I really like Josie as a nickname too, although Josette also appeals to me (and Posy kind of does too). If we choose Cordelia, we would almost certainly use Delia for a nickname. Amelia could be Mia, but we'd probably just use Amelia. I don't like Abby all that much so we would just use Abigail. And Emeline and Caroline we would also probably use the full name.

I chose Caroline because it's my top girl name at the moment

I love the name Cordelia!

Wow, tough poll!!!! Ds would have been Caroline if he was a girl so that is what I chose. But we were going back and forth between Amelia and Caroline. It was hard to pick then and hard to pick now! And dd is Charlotte Abigail so obviously I like Abigail too.

If we had a dd named Caroline we were going to use Carrie as a nickname.

I love them all! But I picked Josephine.

Same here!

I chose Amelia because it was always my favorite - I just couldn't get my husband enthused about it.

I like them all. Cordelia is my favorite because it's more uncommon and from Shakespeare. If DS had been a girl, he would have been Cordelia.

Caroline is second, but it's pretty popular. I like it pronounced Caro-line, not caro-lynn, so there could be some confusion.

Those are all beautiful names. I voted for Abigail, but I'd name my baby girl any of those in a heartbeat.

I picked Emeline because at the time of taking this poll it was my favourite.

Emeline is the only contender for me.

I picked Emeline as well but I like all the names you posted.

Josephine and Abigail are the only ones on your list that I don't like.

I like Cordelia as a name, but it always makes me think of that scene in Anne of Green Gables where she first meets Marilla.

My favorite is Caroline, followed by Emeline.

I like Abigail the best (don't like Abbie), but Amelia is a close 2nd.

We also did a last name as a middle name and would have done the same if it was a girl.

I like Cordelia!

I associate Cordelia with Shakespeare. DH says that people will associated with Buffy. (We're fine with either.) This is a new association for me! I haven't read the Anne of Green Gables books in years. . . .

DH proposed Emeline. I like it, but it also seems like a substitute for Emma/Emily. Not sure I care though.

Thanks everyone!

I love the name Cordelia, thought about naming my dd that.
Our ds's middle name is Harrison, great name. My dh had a friend in the army who was KIA right before he came home, his last name was Harrison.
