What is a good way to handle a nearly 3 y/o biting?
We were sitting on the couch, playing and talking. I was hugging her, my arm across her upper chest. I was telling her it was getting close for bed time, that we'd be going upstairs soon. She leans down and bites my forearm, hard. No provocation, no warning.
I won't lie, my initial reaction was to slap her. I DIDN'T, I fought that urge. I did push her head back to the couch to get her off of my arm and I told her she was lucky i didn't slap her. She bawled, big crocodile tears. DH got mad and said I was hurting her (I was not, at all) so she went and sat by him. At this point I am still upset, she has had no repercussions at all for biting and now she is being coddled by daddy to be saved from mean mommy.
