Anyone know if this would be a good choice for UV protection and keeping cool while babywearing at a music festival? I won't be using it in the water--just want something cool and comfortable and a way to keep babe out of the sun. Know if it's comfy enough to wear for long periods of time? I kinda imagine it being similar in feel to a Moby wrap...maybe I'm wrong.

Should I consider a solarweave MT instead?

It's a "Hi-tech sports knit" which is more like bathing suit material than the jersey used for Moby. It's supposed to be lightweight and cool and wick moisture/sweat away from the skin, although I haven't really tried it just walking around. It does have a UPF of 45 (fabric blocks 97.5% - 98% of the sun's rays compared to a single layer of Solarveil which blocks about 70%). It is black though, so I really don't know how cool it would be just walking around.

So it's a toss up. A lot of people LOVE solarweave MTs, so that might be the safer bet in this situation. Especially since you're planning to stay dry!

Hi mama,
I don't have the water wrap, but a friend of mine does. She says it's tooo stretchy to comfortably wear out of the water for a period of time, although she loves it for the pool and beach.
I have a SW Connecta and I LOVE it. It's a very comfortable and cool carrier. You might want to check it out.

Thanks, I decided that the water wrap was probably too stretchy, and ordered a bali baby breeze instead!

I got Iris, it arrived yesterday and is beautiful! I have yet to try it...I'm a bit intimidated, because the only wrap I've used is the Moby D, which is foolproof.

Ohhh....... I like Iris. You'll have to let me know how it wears once you get used to it.
