Finnegan William arrived 10/6 at 4:21 p.m.
I wound up being induced, starting with breaking my water that morning, and then going to pitocin a few hours later. It turns out that Mr. Finn was not well positioned, and some of the contractions were causing really low heartrates. At one point I wound up with 7 nurses on me, flipping me with way and that, inserting monitors, and putting me on oxygen.
We found a position that I could labor in that didn't stress the baby, and I finally dilated. It was such a long labor to me - not at all like my first child. The contractions were more painful, and took more out of me.
The doctor had to "turn" the baby a bit. Whether through this or through the delivery, Finn wound up with a broken clavicle, but that is expected to heal fine.
I was able to go without an epidural, although I now see where resting a bit more during the labor would have been beneficial. I had a very hard time pushing after the first 6 hours.
The good news is that despite difficult delivery, my recovery is going well. I think I am getting as much sleep now as before the baby (my isomnia was AWFUL).
Finn is nursing pretty well, and we are trying to adjust to having two kids in the house.

glad it turned out ok!!! the hardest part is adjusting to 2 in the house, huh!? -- it is for me too
