Pregnant and SICK

I'm into my 4+2 weeks pregnant and I'm SO sick... like with a cold. And I'm miserable! And my doctor doesn't seem to really care. My nose was super congested and then it moved to my chest. I have so much phlegm in there, usually I'd take an expectorant but none of them are ok for preggos. All I can take is Tylenol cold.

On top of it, I think MS is JUST starting up because today I sneezed and had an overwhelming need to vomit. Even though the two things are not connected in any way.

How can I take the sick away? Should I be doing anything to compensate? I hope this doesn't hurt the poppyseed

yuck. I know it stinks.

Don't worry - poppyseed will be totally fine. Drinks lots and lots of fluids. Use a saline nasal spray everyday (which often will prevent alot of colds). Get lots of rest and make sure that you are taking good supplements. Stay away from all processed sugars. Blah, Blah, Blah.

Get a humidifier to put in your bedroom at night. That will definately help with the congestion.

Hope you feel better soon!

You poor thing! I had the same thing right around 5 weeks. My nose was so stuffy I could hardly breathe and I was sneezing constantly. I can definitely second Peachsara's suggestion of saline nasal mist. I found a great one at Whole Foods with grapefruit seed extract and it really helped clear my sinuses. I've been using it as a preventative since my illness and so far, my nasal passages have remained clear!

Best of luck to you for a speedy recovery!

Sorry you are feeling so bad. Have you tried boiling some water, putting it in a bowl and leaning over it with a towel over your head? Steamy hot baths usually make me feel better but I guess that is out for us for a couple of months. Take lots of fluids and get rest. Hope you are better soon.
