8 month old wanting to be hugged all night

my 8 month old little girl has a cot in our room, she has always been a very huggy little person but has normally settled into her cot as long as she is near the bed and can see me. The last couple of weeks she has been waking all of the time wanting to be held and cuddled - i pick her up she is fine I put her down she cries. I have tried bringing her in bed with me but she just rolls onto her tummy and gets upset because our matress is soft and she cant move around again!

is there anything I can do to comfort her?

Hm, sounds like teething - have you tried any teething meds? Also, try wearing her more in the day maybe?

What if you put the cot right beside your bed and lay with your arm or hand on her?

thanks for the replies, it COULD be teeth she doesnt have any yet so she is due some!I have tried gel but didnt seem to make that much difference. I think i will try moving her cot closer so i can hold her hand or something, she is acorss the room from us at the moment so perhaps if I move her closer she iwll settle a bit more.
