Not a UCer here. But wanted to chime in to your question OP. My parents are both O+ but I am O-. My Dh is O+ and both our girls are O- like me. Just because your parents are positive doesn't mean you are too.

How do you mean? My parents are O+ but can carry the gene for Negative. Since Rh+ is dominant they are positive. My brother is O+, I am O-

Likewise, my dh is O+. He also carries the gene for Rh-. One of his sisters is O-. Since our daughters can only inherit the negative gene from me, they had the 50/50 possibility of getting the negative gene from him. If he didn't carry that gene then our daughters would not be negative. But they would carry the negative gene on that they got from me.

Yes. When I had a transfusion I told them my blood type. They ignored this and didn't even bother to write it down. My dh saw the student nurse who drew my blood typing it in the bathroom of the ER. Gotta love the "sanitary" hospital procedures.

If both parents are - then the children will always be -. Because like you said, - is the recessive and needs a gene from both parents to show up. If mom is - and dad is - then there is no need to worry about Rh incompatibility because it isn't possible.

Yes. I misunderstood what you were saying earlier. If both parents are negative then the children can only be negative. My Dh's sister and her dh are both O-. Even though she is very medical minded she refused the rhogam shot her doctor's offices was very pushy about. Her children were never in any danger of Rh incompatibility.
