Is there a 14 month sleep regression or something?

I don't know what is going on with my dd....at 10 months we stopped co-sleeping and she started sleeping so much better in her crib...sometimes 10 hours a night...that lasted for a few months...with the occasional night where she would get up 1x. For the past couple of weeks she has been getting up 3x per night again and waking for the day at 5...which is not new for her, but it is killing me. I really got used to more sleep and I felt alot better. I just don't know what is going on with her...teeth are coming in but she is not fussy and doesn't seem uncomfortable during the day, so i don't think that is it. Could this be separation anxiety? She also used to be able to be put down sleepy and would roll around and fall asleep on her own...now she screams when i put her in her crib....i don't know what to do. i've tried bringing her back to bed with me, but she is restless and will nurse and roll around for an hour. any thoughts or advice?

I don't know if things are as consistent once they get older because what-they-do-when tends to diverge a lot, but DS's most recent awful sleep stage was around then. Then he had a language explosion... went from a few words (named objects mostly) to a running monologue of life (picked up my empty coffee cup just now and said, "coffee. gone. more?" He also just *GETS* things more than he used to. So, yeah... call it separation anxiety, or increased cognitive abilities, or whatever... they have a lot to deal with in those early toddler months, I think.

And I know what you mean about getting used to more sleep and then regressing. DS has had a really good couple weeks, and last night was up for an hour, crying. Finally, he let loose a few giant farts and fell asleep happily. I guess he was having some problem gas!). I was amazed at how crappy I felt this morning... I mean, I used to get by on FAAAAAAAAR less, just a few months ago!

I could have written your posts, word for word, except my dd is 18mo. Ugh. I want my good sleeper back!

dd will settle if we sing/hum to her, so I've started sleeping in ds's bed in their room and just humming to her when she wakes at night.
