I'm from Montreal but have been living in California for the past 3 years. I am also planning a homebirth. It will be my first because last time I had to be transferred to the hospital...

I am a Toronto girl who lives north of the city now. I love the fact that we have so many options. I am not as crunchy as some when it comes to childbirth, etc... but I have a wonderful GP who does shared care with the ob so I get to stay with her until 28 weeks. That was one deciding factor for me, she is such a sweetheart and is willing to consider alternative ways of doing things and hasn't given me a hassle about vaxxing with my 2 year old.

Just outside Ottawa here. My first son was born in Toronto, where we lived for many years before moving here four years ago. My second son was born here. After reading all the cost/insurance woes of our US friends, I am SO GRATEFUL for our healthcare system.
