Arianna is doing well! She's a sleeper, very mellow. She was up to 6 lbs, 13 oz. on Monday. We're starting EC now and have been tandem nursing since day 1. Tandeming is a little challenging b/c our son wants to nurse every hour and isn't eating much. He's learning how to be less demanding, but he woke me up at 6 am a couple days in a row, demanding to nurse and yelling until he woke up his little sister. He hasn't nursed to sleep at night or during the night in a while, and I wasn't planning on doing either again. Over all, he's adjusting very well to having a baby sister. He made her baby pancakes and brought them to her in bed and anytime she makes the slightest fussy noise, he runs over to her to make sure she's okay.

I gave birth to our daughter on October 13 at 8:31 am. She weighed 6 lbs, 12 oz. We are cuddled up in bed with the woodstove roaring.
Labor began with the onset of the first big October storm! Active labor started around 2 am and lasted 6 1/2 hours, but was much more intense than my first birth. The pushing phase was short, only about 7 minutes. I birthed her on the bed at home, in a squat with one knee down. Only a small tear. She pinked up right away and nursed within 15 minutes.
Our son (2 yrs, 9 months) woke up at 6 am and enjoyed watching his sister's birth. He was very concerned that I was going to birth her into the toilet when I sat on the toilet near the end! We are tandem nursing and that is going well so far. DS has been relatively patient about waiting until after Arianna nurses.
Our midwives were fabulous!
My favorite things during labor were my large birth ball and my hot water bottle, "Lambie". The back labor was bad, even though her positioning was good.
I'll post pictures later. Got to eat!
