Holy weight gain, Baby! Holy weight loss, Mommy!

SO...Gavin had a dr appt today, officially his 2 week well baby, even though he's only 11 days old. And I got on the scale while I was there, just out of curiousity. Boy, do we both have good news to share!!

Gavin weighed 9-9 last week at 4 days old (up from 9-5 at 2 days old, birthweight was 9-13) and today he weighed...10-10!!!!! Wow, a pound in a week! He's also grown an inch already! (although that's subjective, it's hard to measure these little guys)

And I have lost 35 pounds already!! I gained about 50, so I have about 15 left to lose. I can see the definition of my abs on the sides already, not in the middle yet of course, but it feels so good to see progress!!

I swear that must be a product of having nursed Connor all the way through, your milk must've come in like gangbusters!!!

I keep getting a kick out of how much we seem to have in common. It's weird... and I hope it doesn't annoy you that I point it out!

Ezra weighed 11 pounds 4 ounces at his two week appointment, which was two days "late." I'll bet your little man would have been there had he gone in at that time, too!

You're beating me a the weight loss game, though. I'm only down 30 of the 35 pounds I gained. :P

this weight gain is a big deal to me...it took Connor 4 weeks just to get back to birth weight, then he gained SO slowly after that...then got sick and lost weight, regained it, had surgery and lost weight, regained again, got sick...etc...still at 2.5 years old he's "failure to thrive" weighing only 23 pounds (yep, Gavin is almost half of Connor's weight already!) He loses weight so easily (has had 4 surgeries and three inpatient stays for illness, plus countless other illnesses) and getting him to gain is SO hard!! Our life has revolved around feedings and weight gain his entire life...breastfeed, pump, bottle feed, sleep for an hour, do it all over again...

To have a baby that eats easily--I can co-sleep and half the time am unaware of him feeding at all!--breathes normally, is gaining weight, startles at noises--he can hear! I forgot that babies startle!--this is just so...healing!!
