Guided relaxation for sleep Post Partum

Thread Starter
So, anxiety during post partum and I have a long-standing relationship
The only way I have found to relax fully to sleep this pregnancy is with my hypnosis/guided relaxation for birth CDs. But, that isn't going to be very effective after the baby is out

Anyone have any particular CDs you liked to relax you into sleep when not pregnant? I prefer guided relaxation with music afterward, if there is something like that anyone here has used.

Suggestions much appreciated!

I used to listen to dolphin dreamtime a lot of years ago. Now I take myself down the 'route' on my own without needing to listen to her. It's amazing how the place it takes you now feels like a real place to me I've 'been there' so many times.

Hypnobabies do have a peaceful sleep for all cd you can listen to. Pretty sure it's guided relaxation rather than a birthing CD. Have a look in pregnancy after loss, there's a thread hypnobabies for first trimester anxiety. The woman in that thread bought it and said it was good.

I use a roll on relaxing essential oil thingy whenever I listen to my hypnobabies cds. So whenever I smell that I am instantly relaxed. It's a tiny roll on so you can carry it around with you and have a sniff any time you need a little help. I think it's good to start associating a smell with the feeling of calm and total relaxation, partly for birthing, partly for afterwards. And trust me it does work as an extra trigger.

I recommend the "After Baby Comes" CD from Hypnobabies and/or the "Peaceful Sleep Now for Everyone" CD they offer. Both are great!

I still use the HypnoBabies Peaceful Sleep Now CD and DD is 3!! It mentions "if you are pregnant" or "if the baby moves" one time each, I think, but that is it.

I recommend the Mama Bamba Way "Guided Relaxation for birth" CD by Michael Martin and Robyn Sheldon. I used this during my pregnancy and still use it today when I struggle to sleep or just want to relax. This CD is assoiciated to The Mama Bamba Way book by Robyn Sheldon which insured that I had a birth that was filled with richness and magic.
