Mood shifting after return of fertility?

I am not exactly in the traditional postpartum phase. Forgive me if this isn't the best place to post. Feel free to move it.

Dd is 21 months, but since my period retuned 4 months ago, I have been having a lot of episodes of depression, anxiety and feeling low. Today was really bad. i just sat on the lving room floor and cried while I let dd watch Sesame Street.

I am a bit therapist shy after being badly burned by one.

Anyone else experience something similar upon the return of fertility?

thanks

I think it's pretty common to experience depression before one's period. I know I did. It also seems that for many women, it is worse if you are still nursing.

Thistle, I feel your pain mama!
That happened to me too. It took between 4-6 months of feeling horrible to come back up to normal. I'm not sure I was normal since birth to that point. But once my period came back I was so anxious and overwhelmed always. I am now doing really well, and have been for about 2-3 months. I'm enjoying my kids and my role as a Mom. And I'm a good mom now. In reality, not just the philosophy and actions wherever I could. I can only suggest B vitamins and iron, and time.

Yeah, that sounds really familiar. My mood is awful during PMS and come to think of it, I crashed and burned with depression about 5 months after getting my period back at 13 months postpartum. I think you're onto something there.
