Growing Greens Indoors?

I'm starting to think about trying lettuce indoors again--I tried last year in front of a french door and things didn't work out too well. The salads were all pale and spindly, and eventually got mites or some other critters. Does anyone do this of have experience with it? TIA!

I haven't, I'd need a grow light or something to make that work. But what I decided to do for winter fresh stuff indoors is sprouts, like alfalfa.

You can do it if you have grow lights hung right over the rack and if you cut them when they are still short, as "baby greens". Sow them thickly and slice them off right above the dirt, sow some more.

I'm trying mixed greens this year under grow lights. We will see how it goes. I bought a seed mix specifically for growing "microgreens."
