Help! need info on Military Childcare and the non vaxed child

I have a 4 month old baby who is not vaccinated. We have had some problems with other siblings with the vaccines (seizures, anaphalacis (spell?), and autism, even if they still say the vaccines didn't cause it). My gut is telling me not to vaccinate my baby, so I wont.

Now here is the problem, I will be doing childcare in my home through the military. Previously they said a letter from my Dr. saying the baby is healthy would be fine. That is easy enough. Now they want my Dr. to say she agrees with my non vaxing. Problem is, my Dr. does NOT agree with me and tries to talk me into it all the time. I know with the state of CA there are exceptions, but what about with the military. I need to find something ASAP and try to fight this if I can't talk to the Dr. into writing a letter. I only have a couple of days to do this as I need to let the new mom know (of the child I will be watching) if I am not going to be able to pass the final inspection. I will already have to jump through hoops and trying to get titers drawn for my older kids who I can't get access to their shot records from before. They are fully vaccinated, but my infant is not, and wont be.

I would try to research this on my own, but I am hitting mental blocks at the moment. I get so irritated and stressed over it I can't think straight.

For specifics, we are Navy and in California.

I'm going through a similar issue right now as my base is preventing my app for FCC provider from going through due to my request for religious exemption (no one can find my previous vax records, and they dismissed my offer to take a titer). However, no one gave me much grief over me stating I wouldn't be vaxing my new baby with the letters I provided.

p.10 Addresses children and workers in daycare settings. http://www.vaccines.mil/documents/969r40_562.pdf The CYTP MCO 1710.30E states children must be immunized or have a medical waiver, but I just spoke with the head of the FCC program on my base who readily admits that children are permitted religious waivers (we just have to dig for the documents showing permission). Everything dealing with immunizations and chemoprophylaxis falls under this mandate, so that can't make up rules that contradict what this states. Plus, this was updated in 2006 and before then was 1995, so they won't be altering anything any time soon.

This is the letter (or variation) most of us have submitted.

To whom it may concern;

(We / I) {First and Last name(s)}, as the {(parent (s) / guardian(s)} of ______________________(name of newborn child) are exercising (our/my) rights under the US Constitution, Army Regulation 40-562, BUMEDINST 6230.15A, AF JI 48-110, CG COMDTINST M6230.4F , section 3.2, para4, and Army Regulation 608-10, section 4-6, para 2, to receive Religious Exemption from Vaccination, due to our genuine and sincere religious beliefs which are contrary to the practices herein required.

The U.S. Supreme Court held in Frazee V. Illinois Dept. of Security, 489 U.S. 829, that a religious belief is subject to protection even though no religious group espouses such beliefs or the fact that the religious group to which the individual professes to belong may not advocate or require such belief. This ruling is also reflected in Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as amended Nov. 1, 1980; Part 1605.1-Guidelines on Discrimination Because of Religion.

Sincerely,

Your signature.

So you just submitted the letter to the preventive medicine people? They are the ones giving me the hard time about it. I also don't want the older kids to go through them again.

I would submit the letter to my clinic if it was necessary. So far, I've just noted religious exemptions to vaccinations on our files. I submitted the letters to the FCC office and will submit to R&R if needed because the FCC office needs to have our records on file for inspections, and we need to keep copies in our files for our inspections. I submitted a letter for the children (listed names and birthdates) including the unborn child and a separate letter for myself. The base I was originally going to go through didn't have much of an issue with the kids, and this new base didn't bat an eye for the children. They have an issue with ME.

I believe my older children were vaccine damaged as well (before I learned about pharmakeia and how vaccinations go against the Bible), so this baby won't be vaxed. I wouldn't expect any base doctor to sign a statement agreeing NOT to vax unless it was for specific vaccinations that may have injured your older children. I think they would get into trouble advising no vaccinations at all.
