GIRL!
Julia Therese was born on Oct 8th at 4:49. She weighed 9 lbs 1.5oz, and 19 inches long. It was a very dramatic day as was her entire pregnancy.
DH and I show up at the birth place at 6am only to be told they didn't have a room for us. We were told they would not do induction when they were that busy. DH informed her that my Dr was on call that day and ordered my induction, then she thought to look at my chart to see it was medically necessary. We were sent to the family room for an hour waiting for my Dr to arrive. As soon as she hit the floor we were brought to my room.We had to wait until 11:00 to get a nurse.
At 11:30 she broke my water and started pitocin. By 1:00 I was at 7, and needed an epi. I did not expect back labor and wasn't able to breath through contractions anymore.
By 3:00 I had stalled a bit and baby showed signs of distress, internal monitors were placed and I was put on oxygen, things looked much better, and pitocin was bumped up. 10 minutes later I HAD to push, I was at 10 and good to go! I was very happy I could feel everything that I had wanted to feel.
20 minutes later Julia made her dramatic appearance into our world. She had her right arm tucked up over her left shoulder. (found out later her right clavicle is broken)
DS made the announcement and got it wrong, he thought she was a boy
He was so great, and was so happy to be there when she arrived.
We are all over the moon in love with her
On Tuesday she had her weigh check, only to be admitted into the hospital for jaundice, her level was too high for our comfort. We got to come home today after 3 very stressful and tiring days under the lights. Like I said drama!
But we are all home now, nursing great and just perfect in every way!
ETA, big congrats to all the other mamma's and little ones who have joined us in the last week!
