HELP!!!!!! OK to cook/eat red chicken?

So I am really new to preparing and cooking whole chickens. I just butterflied a whole chicken, bought yesterday with a sell by date of 10-17, and noticed that one of the wings is red on the outside, the skin. I thought maybe it would wash off but it didn't. The rest of the chicken is a nice pink/white color and looks fine. Is this safe to eat? (I will be cooking it first on the grill of course!) Hope it doesn't ruin my dinner plans!

I am sure it's fine. I often notice red skin patches on my chickens, usually around the joints and at the wing tips. If it doesn't smell off and isn't past it's date, I'd use it.

Well I made it and it was fine, we are all ok. I did toss the one wing that was red after I cooked it just to be safe, not sure why I didn't just do that before I cooked it. Anyway no problems
