Momma cloth for incontinence

Thread Starter
I searched the forum for this and nothing came up so...

I want to use momma cloth for stress incontinence. I wear pads every day just in case I sneeze or laugh or lift DD with a full bladder as I experience some leakage in those situations.

I have leakage only 1 or 2 times a week, so not a lot but I need to wear protection every day just in case.

I would really like to use momma cloth. I got some today in the mail and I don't care for them. They are poorly sewn and kind of thin.

I would like a long fabric pad that is absorbent. Any ideas?

Thanks
V

I can't reccomend particular brands, because I sew all of my own.

Do you live near any food co-ops/ The ones around here all carry mama cloth, but not a lot of selection. It might be worth checking out, though, so that you can see them in person.

Another option is to fins a mama who sews and ask her to make you exactly what you want. Do you have any local friends who sew?

I'm another who sews her own. I also sometimes use very thin or newborn sized prefolds as they're fairly absorbant but not bulky

I'm always raving about this site, but she makes excellent products! She recommends some of her "light" pads for light incontinence protection. They are nice and cushy, very comfy and soft - I have mostly the bamboo velour topped ones.

Look on Etsy. There are quite a few ladies who sell pads there. My "pad lady" is effiethepixie--her pads are fabulous and not very spendy compared to some. Her shop is closed briefly while she's on vacation but the wait could well be worth it to you.

For the same problem, I use ImseVimse night pads (they are long and very absorbant). Checking now, I see the same eBay seller I bought from previously is still carrying them (http://cgi.ebay.com/Imse-Vimse-Organ...item1c0b10ef4a). These are very comfortable and long wearing (I've had some of mine for 5 years). Whatever brand you settle upon, make certain to get a postpartum or night pad. A light or regular pad for stress incontinence is insufficient.

I agree wholeheartedly. This lady's pads are AMAZING. I've been using the same ones for years. They are crazy absorbent.
