Baby girl born at home early this morning on her due date at 12:40am. 9 lbs even, 21 inches, 15in head, 15.5 in chest... only one tiny tear.

My MW checked my cervical dilation yesterday at 1:00. I was fully effaced and dilated to a 4. She was wondering just why I was still pregnant. I had constant double peaked contractions every two minutes after my appt until about 8:00, when they pooped out. They weren't terrible and i was visiting with my family and joking that at that rate i'd be in labor for three more days. I called my MW who suggested all fours to get baby in a better position, as she suspected she was slightly posterior. I got in the shower and let the warm water hit my back for awhile. I got out and wasn't feeling much different. I was finally able to have a BM after trying for hours and as soon as I did, contractions picked up super quick. They were 1 min long approx 1 min 30 secs apart.

MW was on her way, DH and my mom got the pool ready while I had back to back to back contractions with only 10 sec breaks every two minutes or so. I got up to pee and lost my plug and a decent sized clot just as the midwife came in through the door. Labor let up for a few minutes while the pool finished filling. I got in the pool, contractions picked right up again. She checked me and I was 9 cms with a lip. We decided to break my water, since it seemed to be hindering progress. Started pushing with the next contraction and baby girl was here in 15 minutes.

It was crazy intense once labor started in earnest, not even two hours from serious contractions to babe in arms.

Hopefully this link works for a picture?

Crap. Yeah. 21, of course. She would have been like birthing a snake otherwise!
