8 mos old dshas had the flu for 7 days, during which he only nursed probly 5 or 6 times. Now that he is beginning to feel better, how do I get he reaqainted with breast? He pushes me away, so not even attempting to get latched on. Please help, I don't want it to be over yet!!

Lots of skin to skin contact. Limit the amount of sippy cups or bottles that he gets I know you cant take them all away but offer the breast before any other drinking. Take a bath together I have heard that works. Good luck to you

Offer the breast when he is sleepy or in his sleep. Ditto to what pp said. Stay as relaxed as you can different situation but my ds had a strike at that age & he nursed again in the middle of the night. Good luck!

Pump, if you can, to keep up your supply and read up on nursing strikes. Sickness is a common cause of nursing strikes.

I agree, it might be easiest to try when ds is really tired.

I'm curious, has he been rejecting the breast through the whole flu, then, and having bottles?

Yes. This is day 7!! I am very concerned. I have offered him the breast many times before giving him a bottle, but he pushes me away. Tried when he was nearly asleep, and he started crying and got upset w/me

Yes pump I forgot to mention that. Also keep trying I offered the breast what felt like hundreds of times before he finally took it. Hang in there!
