Probiotics info please

Can we talk about this a little?

First of all, what's the best brand and where is the best deal on them?

Secondly, are they something that you really have to take continuously or is there hope that you gut might recolonize and stay properly balanced?

Anything else that you want to share would also be appreciated

Well I'm not an expert but what I've learned I've learned by trial and error. I have been dealing with bad gut issues for a year now (parasites and yeast) and have tried several brands/strains before I found one that is helping me. What it comes down to is different things work for different people. It depends on what you are using it for as well.

I saw a naturopath who gave a probiotic with FOS (fructoogliosaccharides), a sugar indigestible by humans. Alternative medicine hypes it as able to feed good bacteria but usually not bad. USUALLY being the key word. Um, it made me way worse. I guess it works for some people though, that's why it's made. She swore by it, but it didn't work for me.

Others just seemed ineffective.

For me I finally have settled with Primal Defense Ultra by Garden of Life. I am taking 12 caps per day to re establish flora....they recommend for 6 months than to work down to a maintenance dosage. My stools are finally back to normal! I have actually heard bad things about this product from other people though so again, it worked for me but not for them.

Others on here are much more knowledgable about the details. My gut flora has finally improved enough that I can digest goat yogurt again (couldn't digest dairy for a year) so now I am trying to get more naturally occuring probiotics that way...which I still think are always best.
