Question for those with a baby already?

The worst part of labor for me is the pelvic pain. The baby pushes on my pelvis with each contraction and that is FAR worse then any contraction by itself. If I were just contracting it'd be nothing! Is this normal or am I just lucky? Same thing happened with my DS, no prob with even pitocin contractions but once my water broke the head against my pelvis was excrutiating! I got alot of that sort of pain last night and it was NOT fun at all in the slightest! Luckily my water is still intact or I might have killed someone .

I was induced with my first two and had tremendous hip pain that nothing could relieve. With my first I was *certain* my hips were going to explode...I really did believe it! With my second it wasn't as bad, but my labor was much shorter. I haven't gone yet this time around, so I am not sure if I will have the hip pain again. My guess is that if I do have it it won't be as bad as the first 2 times when the pitocin was giving me unnatural contractions. I know when my mom was induced with my sister she had tremendous hip pain as well, but with me she had no pain at all. She wasn't induced with me, well, not really. She was given a pill (pitocin I imagine) under her tongue to induce her labor. When they put the pill there she wasn't contracting at all....I was born before the pill dissolved Had she not been in the hospital I definitely would have been born at home.

I hope you get some relief!

When you say pelvic pain do you mean the bones of your pelvis hurt or your cervix hurts? My contractions don't REALLY hurt until very close to birth but my labors are short. Is the pain down low and in front? That is where my pain was and it was my cervix opening. Describe where and how it feels.

I don't have my baby, but from what you are describing... with me it was the same thing, but it was my water still being intact that was causing the pain. Once the midwives broke my water (I was in a birthing center), the pain was much better. It's probably your water that is causing the pain.

IT's the same feeling I had with DS, but slightly more manageable. Once my water broke with him I lost all control and it flat out felt like my pelvis was broken. It hasn't gotten that bad. Def the bones that I'm feeling, although my cervix is sore and burns too.

Last night it felt like baby was the world's biggest poo. Usually the pain is pubic bone pain. With DS I was told I had pelvic dystocia but he was sideways and acynclic so not really a surprise. Dunno what's going on this time.
