(new) Moon rituals

Thread Starter
This new moon has been awesome for me in terms of growth. (seriously Tracy-amazing and hard and all that!)

I would like to learn some spiritual rituals to go along with the moon's cycles to honor her and how she influences my life. I can recognize the effect she has on me.

So help? What do you do? Any recommended references?

oh, dear. well, i did a pagan "camp" on the moon (and our) cycle's earlier this summer... there's some stuff in there.

i adore mooncircles.com. they post articles on the new and full moon, and often there's a ritual... there are also rituals in their archives... let's see.... here's the new moon ritual for the libra new moon.

hanging out on the monthly pagan thread around a new or full moon and asking that question will most likely get you a lot of answers, too.

Here's something based on the religion of the ancient Greeks: Hekate's Deipnon followed by Noumenia.

Quote:
Hekate's Deipnon takes place during the dark phase of the moon: the end of the lunar month (any time before the sliver of the new moon has been sighted). Hekate, according to the Liddell and Scott Greek-English Lexicon, means "bringer or giver of light" ('Ekate phosphoros). At the darkest part of the month, we prepare our homes for the transition to a new month. Hekate's Deipnon is a time of purification of self, home, and affairs.
I like the idea that you should leave offerings to Hekate (and/or give food to food banks) and ritually sweep and clean out the home on the darkest night of the month.

Then the next day when the first bit of the new moon is visible you get to do another ritual:
Quote:
The Noumenia is a celebration of the start of a new month and seeks blessings for the household. Offerings such as incense or honey cakes are made to Selene, Apollon, Hestia, and your household Gods at your family altar.
And then there's this description of it: The Rite of the New Moon

My suggestion are as follows:

Do not stop, do not pass go, do not collect $200 before you read Tracy's new moon article, which it looks like you do but it is worth repeating.

You can write down all that you want to manifest for the next 28 days then with in 3 days of the new moon make a little fire and burn them, allowing the smoke to carry your wishes to the Moon.

Sing/chant to her
