(Panesbjorne!!!!)Experience With Consuming Bentonite Clay?

Hi mamas,
I am looking for ways to lessen my mercury load while I still have amalgams:
http://www.mothering.com/discussions...7#post14534627
and I've read thru a bazillion threads in these forums looking for info.
One thing ppl have suggested is Bentonite Clay. But I haven't seen any descriptions of usage - like what was it like?
I'm thinking I will try this, but am mostly wondering if it will mess with my gut flora or nutrient uptake?
I'd love to hear from anyone who has experience with taking this.
Also, I was thinking of ordering this one:
http://www.vitacost.com/Yerba-Prima-...entonite-Detox
mostly b/c I have to place a vitacost order anyway - does it look like an okay clay to use?
TIA!
Sandy

I've never used Yerba-Prima, but I've used Living Clay (http://www.livingclayco.com) for years and I love it! It doesn't mess with gut flora or good nutrients at all. It works by attracting positively charged ions (viruses, metals, toxins, etc.), binding with them, and removing them from your body. Bentonite clay is truly amazing. Great stuff for both internal and external use.

I mostly read good stuff about consuming pascalite clay (pascalite.com). We bought some, just haven't used it yet though, it was actually mostly for DH and he hasn't tried it yet.

It is also great for upset stomach or stomach flu. We use it every so often just to get rid of any metals that we get via food or environment. It tastes great in a drink or just plain water. I actually love it. It makes me feel so earthy.

Thanks a lot for the responses.
I'm looking forward to trying it.
CLM, which clay did you buy from them?
Powder?
TanyaLopez Doyou recall how you ordered from pascalite.com? You can't order on the site - did you call? Their clay does look good, but I don't feel comfortable giving my cc info in an email.

Gitti, what clay do you use?

Thanks again so much.
oh, and for anyone reading here who wants more info about clay, I found this link in the chelating forum:

Yes, I buy the powder and mix it myself. It's more economical that way.

Sandy, I ordered via email, but they are slow, at least they were this past spring, maybe it's a better turn-around time now.

Thanks so much.
I'm really looking forward to seeing if it makes a difference. It's just nice to do something to lesson the toxicity.
I've been doing milk thistle also and hopefully it is beneficial. I am still trying to grok the whole detox pathways stuff.. it's such a challenge for a fogged-in brain such as mine. As far as I can tell milk thistle is okay.
Thanks again.

I take pascalite internally and I have metal fillings and am breastfeeding. I called them on the phone to order and it took about a week for it to arrive. I mainly got it to brush my teeth with and also for my 2 ye old to use. I heard it can heal cavities. I think I am seeeing a difference already, mainly with gum health. But more time will tell. And after I had my baby, I was all of a sudden stinky and had to shower constantly (sorry if TMI). I think my body was trying to ajust rom the hormone changes of being post partum. Since I have been taking the clay, no more stink!! Must be working! It is so easy to take in powder form and no problem for my dd either.

(note- Isn't living clay the same as pacalite?)

I would love to know more about pascalite and where you ordered it from.

I got it from pascalite.com just like TanyaLopez. I would love to have Pansebjorne chime in because she got me hooked on the clay. Pascalite is better than bentonite eventhough it is a form of bentonite. regular bentonite is "sodium bentonite", but pascalite is "calcium bentonite". Wow that was wordy. Clear enough?
Pascalite is great at going into the body and mopping up toxins. Anything else you are specifically interested in knowing (not that I have the answers, but someone may know if I don't). I am still learning.

I am mainly using it for my mouth. I had a root canal done years ago and the gum aways bleeds when I floss, everytime, and for the first time it doesn't bleed. I pack the clay around the tooth that has a cavity and the surrounding gums.

Have any of you tried zeolite?
http://www.zeolite.com/zeolite-benefits.php
just came across it a minute ago so haven't read it all yet - kind of sounds too good to be true!
I take 1/2 tsp 2 times a week in addition to what I am brushing with. I don't see anyhing wrong with long term use. Where did you hear that?

I do have a zeolite spritzer in my cabinet, but never use it. I am not sure much about it.

The bentonite clay from Living Clay Co. is calcium bentonite, not sodium bentonite. Sodium bentonite should never be taken internally, but calcium bentonite is GREAT to us internally as well as externally. I really like the people who work there, too. They're very friendly and knowledgeable and always seem glad to take the time to answer any questions I've had. They are also very fast with their shipping. Really, I just can't say enough good stuff about this clay. I use it for so many things, and it always surpasses my expectations. And I love that website www.aboutclay.com. There's a ton of good info there on how to use healing clay.
Oh yeah! Using it long term - I've been using Living Clay for 4 years, daily, and I plan on using it for the rest of my life. There's no problem with using it long term at all.

The Yerba Prima Great Plains Bentonite I was going to order from Vitacost said short term use on the label. That's why I thought that. But I'm going to order from Living Clay I've decided. I can't tell if the other stuff is the calcium or sodium.
I can't wait to try it!
Oh, one more thing if you're not all sick of me yet!
Does anyone know about the calcium in the clay - it's not going to cause calcium deposits or stones? I know I'm paranoid sounding - but I don't supplement calcium b/c I'm at risk of stones and want to make sure the clay isn't going to do that or mess w/ cal/mag ratio, kwim???

Thanks for all the input ladies!

I don't wanna crash the happy vibe in this thread but I have heard that the clay has very very high levels of aluminum and to avaoid it. Per my naturopathic doctor.
Oh ya... We were just at my naturopathic doctors yesterday. My doctor gave my mom (who came with us, my son sees her for liver disease) this big lecture about her mercury fillings she got removed. She did not get them removed correctly and has had migranes and fatigue ever since. She put her on two products to remove the mercury from her body that she inhaled when she got her fillings removed.

-alginate plus
-zeolite
Those may not work for Sandy brcause she was looking for detoxers that she could use while she still has her fillings. But I don't know enough about those things to tell.
