DS nightweaned and moved to his own bed, and now I'm MORE tired??

Hi everyone!

We co-slept with DS for two really great years. We nightweaned DS about a month ago, after he chose to move into his own bed in his own room three months ago. I didn't feel like I was getting enough sleep and DS was waking up quite often to nurse. Nightweaning was a few really tough nights, but now he's doing great. He's in bed by 8pm and sleeps until 6am, then cuddles/nurses with me in bed until 7:30ish. If he does happen to wake up at night to go potty, DH takes care of it. It's AWESOME!

So lately I've been trying to get to bed earlier (like 11pm, whereas before I used to go to sleep at 1am) and I sleep until around 6am. So I am getting more sleep that I have ever had since DS was born 28 months ago, and I have much more room since he moved into his own bed, and yet I'm EXHAUSTED. Like absolutely wiped out. I fell asleep in front of my computer while working yesterday.

What might be going on here?? I feel like I got more sleep when we were cosleeping and BFing at night.

(Mods, feel free to move if you think there would be a better location for this.)

Any chance you're pregnant (now that DS is out of your bed perhaps the chance of that has risen )

NCSS says you feel more sleepy after you start getting good sleep after being sleep deprived for a long time. But it seems like a month would be long enough to adjust!

It took me a long time to get out of that feeling. I think I was used to living on fumes and when I finally started sleeping, my body craved MORE MORE MORE!! I can't believe i'm getting ready to do this to myself again in March!!!

Ha! I was coming here to post exactly the same thing. I've been sleep deprived for 4 years now, but being newly pg was the only time I felt like I would fall asleep at my desk...

Nope. There's absolutely no way I'm pregnant. I wish.
