18-month-old won't take CLO

no way, no day, no how. not in a box, not with some lox.

he does eat a good amount of organic butter and eggs that we get from a local farm. he also drinks raw milk.

the rest of us (me, dh and ds1 who is 6) take blue ice CLO.

does the babe even NEED a supplement similar to CLO? he gets probiotics and a drop of carlson's baby D daily. am i overthinking and assuming he needs an oil-type supplement when he doesn't?

thanks.

DS, who is 25 months, WILL NOT take CLO no matter what. Perhaps our two had a conversation about this? I am not worried... he has a good diet and and takes probiotics. I am too tired to fight it at this point!

My dd will take it, but the plan was to add it to juice if she wouldn't. Diluted juice as we don't do full-strength. Maybe in a sippy cup or w/a straw so as not to actually get a good taste of it.

I mixed the Blue Ice Fermented Cinnamon Tingle in with a spoonful of honey and DS liked that for about 6 mo. With the fermented the dose for a LO is really teeny tiny.
Now he'll take the regular orange flavored on a spoon (especially if I tell him it's just for me and act like he's not allowed to have any. ) chased w/ orange EmergenC.
For us it was really important that we took whatever we wanted him to take.
But DS has always loved eating fish and stuff so that helped. Actually that was how I got him switched to the regular. I started offering it on nghts we had seafood for dinner. I guess b/c his palate had already had to much fish that it didn't taste so fishy.

thanks!

i'm going to switch to fermented next time we order, so perhaps i'll try again then. he can suss that taste out in ANYTHING. i'd try OJ (which is how i get it down), but he doesn't drink any juice (just milk & water) ...

he's a sweet, chunky, pleasant little thing, so i'm not THAT worried ... just wanting to plant the seeds of good health.

I think you're overthinking it. CLO is a good supplement, and we take it in my family but I don't think your 18 mo needs it. If you take it, and you're still nursing I really wouldn't stress about him not taking it. If you're not still nursing him, then just make sure he eats a wholesome and varied diet. There's plenty of other nutrient dense foods that offer DHA, EPA, retinol and D.
