I have a thumbsucker!

It's kind of weird to me, because DS1 never ever sucked his thumb, although he did at the 20 week U/S. Sawyer stuck his fist in his mouth, and eventually all that was in there was his thumb, and he sucked and drifted off to sleep. It's so cute! I don't want to encourage it long-term, but it is cute for now, lol.

Anyone else have a thumbsucker?

Grey will suck on whatever he can get into his mouth. Sometimes he jams all of his fingers in there at once. He occasionally manages just a thumb but isn't quite coordinated enough to get it consistently.

sam has been having fun with his thumb sucking, right, left, no matter to him it's adorable to see, since i sucked my thumb when i was a child.

Gavin will suck on anything he can get in his mouth...at least for a short time. Yesterday he had been fussing while I was changing Connor, but by the time I was done with Connor and went to Gavin, he had quieted down. it was because he had managed to get his sleeper in his mouth and was sucking on it! LOL! Unfortunately he left a big stain on the sleeper because we have thrush and he had gentian violet in his mouth, but oh well

Me, too! DD1 sucks her thumb (she is 7) but I haven't been able to keep DD2's hands free since she has really sharp nails and I can't file/cut them to get them smooth. Any help with that would be great! I want to see if she is a thumb sucker as well since I have read it is genetic...

I think it MUST be genetic. Never seen any of my children suck their thumb in utero or since birth. I think it's adorable too. I have had a few 'two finger' sucking clients and that's pretty darn cute as well.

Charlotte a couple times got a thumb in her mouth and sucked it, but it was purely by happenstance. She's never done it since the very beginning.

I sucked my thumb until I was 5-6. DD1 is still sucking her thumb and did it in utero. She is now 7. I have gotten some awful comments by those lovely "well intentioned" nosy busybodies, such as " I wouldn't let her suck her thumb anymore" and they will direct some of the meanest comments to her such as "That is what a baby does, you look like a baby". It really infuriates me. I am to the point that I am going to be rude to anyone who is rude to me or my children first.
