could one 6 hr no-nursing stretch a week make AF return?

My DS is 10 months old and nurses a TON...about every 2 hours during the day and at least every hour at night. We co-sleep. My cycle didn't return with my DD until she was 21 months, about a month after I night-weaned her, so I figured I'd get a nice long reprieve this time too. But a couple of weeks ago I started seeing some indications that my body was trying to ovulate. I have no idea why it would happen this time when it didn't happen last time and DS nurses way more than DD ever did. The only thing I can think of that's different this time, is I volunteer one morning a week and DS is at a friend's house from 7 am to 1 pm. I don't pump while I'm gone. Could that 6 hours stretch of not nursing just once a week be enough to cause my cycles to come back? And if so, would a session of pumping while I'm gone probably be enough to keep my cycles at bay?

My Mom takes ds most Fridays for most of the day (6-9 hours) & af has not returned. It seems to be highly different from person to person. I have had times I've thought things were starting up again but so far no actual sign of af.
