mermaid toys appropriate for a 3.5 year old?

My 3.5-year-old DD is into mermaids, after several water or aquarium-related trips lately. She has two little six-inch cheap plastic mermaid toys from the dollar store that she *adores*. They look a little...um..."adult" to me, but were seemed like a harmless enough use of one dollar at the time. I had no idea they'd stick around so long! So anyway, I'd kind of like to upgrade her mermaid playing options for Christmas, but am not sure what's out there. When I google mermaid toys I just get Disney princess or Barbie stuff, which was not really what I had in mind. I also found the Kathe Kruse Waldorf dolls, but for $50 each that wasn't really what I was looking for either, plus I think she'd interpret those dolls are babyish.
I'll buy or sew her a mermaid costume, for sure, but what is out there in the way of dolls? Non-Barbie-looking Disney stuff is okay, if you know of something cute. Or is there a breed of mermaids out there I just don't know about?
Thanks!

It might take some looking, as I don't think these are currently in production, but a friend of mine has this for her little one, and they're pretty cute:

I find things like that can often be found in small brick and mortar stores, as old stock tends to hang around longer in them than in online stores.

I've seen these mermaid magnet paper dolls before, they seem pretty cool.

I love mermaids and had to check out this thread.

We have this little dress up outfit for DD's dolls that might work.

We have these mermaid dolls which are affordable and kid oriented without being Disney.

The groovy girls mermaids are nice and looks mostly like kids. We also have a 'toddler' Ariel bath toy from Disney that is a little girl (chubby face, no chest, baby arms) that my DD love to play with in the tub.

Alex makes a foam bath toy with mermaids as well (Target).
