Help!! No poop for two days?

Vincent has been nursing normally and peeing like he should. But he hasn't pooped in 2 days. He is 10 weeks and 5 days today and he hasn't pooped since Thursday. He had been having one big poop a day and a bunch of poopy farts prior to Thursday. Now he isn't even having poopy farts. Everything else seems normal though, no fever, he's alert and happy, no crying, no swollen belly.

He is my first, and I read that BMs do slow down with BFed babies. But would it happen this fast? I don't really want to call the doctor b/c some of the doctors at the office I take him too would be like "oh, you didn't vax him, that's the problem" or "just feed him some formula" neither of those are things I am going to do...so, I really would appreciate some talking off of the ledge I'm on.

Very worried....anyone have any experience with this?

Sounds totally normal, it can kick in kind of suddenly, when their digestive system becomes more efficient, I guess. Bear in mind, Once every X many days will be a real blow-out!

Just wanted to tell you that it's most likely all fine. My little one is 9weeks+ and he suddenly stopped his once a day poop habit at about 6 weeks. I was so worried (first timer as well, and even with all my searching the internet and people telling me it was normal, still was scared). I called the Drs. office and they said it was normal. They also told me I could give him an ounce of apple juice with an ounce of warm water, and to give him a probiotic every day. But I wouldn't do the juice. (though I did) Sam went a week and a day with no poop and would be crabby, grunting, and kicking his legs and I could tell he was uncomfortable and wanted/needed to poop (hence why I was worried). But he did finally poop and all is good. He now poops every 4 days, and if he doesn't I found drinking a glass of prune juice works to get his to poop within the day. I'd MUCH rather be the one to drink the juice than to give him anything but breastmilk.

I hope that helps!

Normal

Ian eventually worked himself to a 7-day poop schedule, and it was NICE! Then we started solids, and suddenly he was pooping at night even! Yet another reason to delay solids

If he ever shows signs of being in discomfort, back arching, drawing his legs up, grunting without passing gas, etc, then something may be bugging his tummy, but if that isn't happening, then it just means that he's pulling nearly all the nutrients from your breastmilk and there just aren't any waste products! Another example of how it's the perfect food!

yes, drink some prune juice yourself. this should produce his 'blowout poop' within the next day or so.
and two days is *nothing*. don't panic. mine has had two stretches of 5 days each. the blowout poop completely filled his diaper, backside and all the way up the front!

Hugs, I know how stressful it can be, but as the others have said, it is normal-- just have lots of wipes ready when the poop does come It can be messy.

My son was a poop-after-each-feeding baby and my little Mabel is a *maybe* once a day pooper, so different.

It's totally normal - don't worry about it. I remember my DS1 went 10 days without pooping once. There was a real expolosion when it arrived! Just when you think you're getting a handle on their habits, it all changes again - stops us getting complacent!
