Vera was born from me at 3:42 am on the 14th of October. She weighed 9 lbs 7 oz and was 23 inches long.
I'll eventually get around to writing some sort of stream of consciousness birth story but for now will tell you that it was idyllic - a late night, quiet, open windows to the rain, surrounded by people who cared for me beautiful peaceful and powerful water birth.
My boyfriend was and continues to be amazing and attentive. He has made all of the difference in the world to me. The birth and days since could not have been so perfect without his tender strength. He is an amazing papa.
Our daughter is easy and sweet. She took to nursing without a hitch. I absolutely love breastfeeding. She is a delicious little creature and I study every detail. At night I am curled around her listening to the rise and fall of her breath, looking into her moonlit eyes. Everything about my life is soft right now.
