My specialist for my ds (who is 5) is pushing both the flu vax & swine flu vax because he has Crohn's disease and is on 6-MP, which suppresses his immune system. I've never gotten any flu shots for my kids, & not even very many other vaxes, until he was dx. I don't know what to do. I'm scared that if I don't vax him, he won't be able to fight off the flu or anything else that he gets hit w/ in relation to the flu. BUT, I'm also scared to get him the vax and something horrible happens to him from it. What is a Mom to do? I'm just so lost on this decision. Any advice? Insight?
