does anyone make there own hot sauce? we were given some hot peppers and I want to turn them into hot sauce, last year my dh's cousin came to visit and made it for us and it was so good I know that he added onion and carrot to it which made it fruity while being very hot. I loved it but can't seem to find a recipe online, can anyone help me out?

I used the peppers I had on hand (3 medium-hot yellow peppers from my garden plus 2 dried chilis)
1 clove peeled garlic
1/2 c. vinegar (use balsamic to make it a little sweeter)
1 Tbs. minced onion
1/2 tsp. sea salt

Boil peppers, onion, and garlic in vinegar and salt until tender (about 15 minutes). Puree in blender with 1 tsp. agave and 1/2 c. more vinegar until smooth. I also added 1 Tbs. port for a little more sweetness. I like the idea of adding fruit to it though... maybe I'll try that next time.

thanks I was just looking for a little direction! I don't have any garlic but I am using onion and carrot and just carmelizing them and then will add vinegar, peppers, and salt.

and I love the idea of adding port...will need to open a whole bottle for that
