Disposable Recommendation?

I don't need them for long - just for a couple days traveling, a couple dozen at most. I considered packing the cloth, but just don't think it'll work well this particular trip.
But we've never used disposables, so I don't know what's good. Is there a rec someone could make that:
fits well, green (if possible), comfy (trying to avoid rashies), and DOESN'T LEAK ?

Nature Babycare

I buy them from Amazon.

That or seventh generation.

If you're going with Nature's babycare, I suggest you buy a size up. Maybe it was just me, but when I bought a pack, I bought the size based on the poundage it said on the labeling. They were way too small and didn't fit.

I love their wipes! I suggest getting those, too if you need them. Nature's is a great brand for wipes.

And you can buy them a BRU if you don't do the online thing.

We really like Seventh Generation.

Huggies has an organic brand now. It's in a white bag with a leaf print all over it. I sampled one and it worked nicely!

I find that you have to size up on the green disposables. I also like the very generic store brands - no perfumes or weird designs, just a cheap diaper that works.

I didn't worry abot going super green when switcing for such small amount of times We liked Target brand, the krgoer store brands and the luvs brand.

I could NOT use at all walmarts White cloud Walgreens brands or 7th generation...

Are those Nature Baby wipes pretty gentle? We usually use cloth wipes, and after literally only 2 days on throw-away wipes (we got a 20-pound box at our shower, so we tried them) she gets the most awful diaper rash, even though everything else is still the same.
I was thinking about just packing a bunch of paper towels and doing the same I do with my normal cloth - get it wet in the sink, spritz with my little travel bottle of cleanser, and then instead of into the wet bag, throw it away when we're done.

What happens if you need size 6 pullups; what I mean is, I can't buy larger than size 6 in supermarkets where I live (UK). So if, for a trip to California, I need to go a size up for less environmentally-horrible disps, and I usually need a size 6, but what if no one is selling size 7...
Do I just revert to regular size 6s (usual brands)? Or can you get Size 7 pull=ups in Nature Baby/7th Generation? Or is size 6 in 7th Generation not so different from Size 6 in regular brand diapers?

I don't want to end up buying something that I can't use!

OP- I love luvs diapers. The are affordable and are great at holding everything in. They aren't a very eco-friendly product, but if you are only using them for a short amount of time, it shouldn't matter too much. I think everyone is different too. Every parent seems to swear by a particular brand that fits their childs needs the best. Good luck!

Cavy- Have you tried ordering online? I know diapers.com sells size 7. I have seen pampers in size 7 in one store in my area and only in a small package at a ridiculous price. Pull-ups here in size 2T-3T should suit your needs. The little girl I used to take care of needed a size 7 diaper and switched to 2T or 3T pull-ups and they fit her perfectly.

We've always had good luck with 7th gen. Not as green as NB but greener than then others.

Seconding Luvs!! They work great for my twins. Very affordable, hold A LOT and neither of my kids had rashes from it. It's not overly perfumey either.

Huggies' labeling is very misleading. There is "some" organic cotton in the cover, and some vitamin E on the liner. But, the inside of this diaper is the same SAP as all of their other ones. I would not consider it an eco-friendly diaper.

Don't all the disposables have the superabsorbent polymer? I know the 7th generation and Nature Babycare both do (as per their own webpages):

Gdiapers also uses SAP in their inserts, which they consider compostable and biodegradable. I think what they mean is that the SAP won't hurt any organisms that ingest it (I can't imagine it is actually biodegradable).

Yes they are!! And then have special "sensitive skin" ones too. DD can't have any harsh chemicals or anything like that so I use those. I also use a store brand type of wipes from our local grocery store's organic section. Just depends on where I am and if someone else is picking up wipes for me .. and what time it is since the grocery store is open 24 hours.

When it comes to 7th gen, I've never had to go a size up. I go by the lbs limit on the package and have never had a problem. Nature Baby you have to go a size up, at least we did, but with 7th gen, there's no need.
