Weekly Chit Chat October 18th-25th

So ladies, how are all of us doing? It feels like there are only a handful of us left waiting for our babies.

I'm doing good, just waiting around for something to happen. I knew I'd make it to my 39th week, which starts on Wednesday. Now I'm at the point where I'm over analyzing every cramp

And the leaves just started changing here, its so beautiful! Except now its cold, so I have to try and squeeze my fat swollen feet into boots now

I'm 40 weeks today and I can add nausea, major crabiness and feeling a bit more tired to everything else. Trying not to get too restless about LO not being here yet. My one MW is going to be out of town for a couple of days at the end of the week, so it would be nice to pop before then.

38.5 weeks here and waiting. At least I know the end date is Thursday, but I am so exhausted from not sleeping and this cold that I would welcome an earlier day. I don't think it's going to happen though because he clearly is very comfortable. Glad to know he is....too bad I'm not

Still here! I'm 39 weeks. Think it might still take a little longer. I, too, am obsessed with every little cramp or twinge. I took a loooong walk yesterday AND had sex AND my husband rubbed some kind of pressure point on my leg that our birth class instructor showed us. But I got nothing...guess she's not ready yet.

I am recovering from a nasty cold, so it's not the worst thing in the world to wait a few more days, I suppose.

Everything is ready and my house is actually clean for once. Every time I go out, somebody makes a big deal about how I look like I'm about to have the baby any minute, so I guess I look ready. My mom went two weeks past her due date with me though, so I'm kind of nervous that we might have a ways to go.

39 weeks tomorrow, and nothin' going on except those pointless little BH ctx. Does anyone else feel tons of pressure "down there" during BH contractions? Yesterday we went for a long walk, and at the peak of the ctx, I would feel some fairly strong pressure. Guess I am over-analyzing with you all!

I'm simmering my postpartum herbs on the stove and am going to soak and freeze my gauze pads today. Also baking some high-fiber muffins to freeze, need to wash the kitchen and bathroom floors, and do laundry...I think it's combination nesting and just desperately needing to occupy myself while I am waiting and waiting and waiting!

Just 39 weeks today and still here. I am unsure of how I feel about it really. No one expected me to get this far at all! I am happy I did, but now wanting to be done. Dh has been home for a week now, so every passing day is one less day of pay too.....so that is complicating things I guess.

Well, I guess all of that crampiness and BH have been doing something! I had the midwife check me and I'm 3-4 and 90% effaced. Baby's head is still high up and she's posterior, so I've been instructed to do lots of hands and knees and squatting.

No squatting until you are sure baby is no longer posterior otherwise it will just jam the baby into your pelvis in a not ideal position. Just my 2 cents. Once baby turns squat away!

38.5 weeks here. I had another appt today and my Dr was paged for a delivery at the last minute. I got the same nurse as last time and she couldn't reach my cervix again. I told them I won't be returning until Friday the 30th instead of going in on the 26th.

I am totally at peace with not knowing what is going on in there. I made it past the wedding I had been dreading which took place over the weekend. So I'm going to do everything I can short of taking castor oil to help labor along. I've already been taking EPO orally for a couple of weeks and will now start vaginally. Also, hubby and I will be DTD and taking long walks every day.

Any other suggestions?

Those of us remaining are in the home stretch!!!

38 weeks tomorrow, and I have an OB appointment in the morning. After the yucky contractions on Friday, there hasn't been anything else much at all. 8 days until my induction date, so at least I have an endpoint... but still.. I was half hoping I'd go into labor before then on my own. I'm really torn between going naturally and knowing it'll be so quick its almost painless ... or being induced a week early to avoid having the baby on the highway.

I'd almost rather have the baby on the highway to be honest. But no one is game for that one.

turned 39 weeks yesterday. hard to think I've probably got another 3 weeks- I'd love to just go into labor.

It's kind of daunting to think about but thankfully it's not that uncomfortable, just awkward. DH is more than happy to oblige and if it helps us avoid induction in the long run, then it's worth it.

ETA: I don't know if this is a normal sensation or not... And it's TMI but in the area just behind where my clitoris is, there's often a sort of burning pain sensation. Like something sharp is being poked very roughly into that area. Is that just my pelvis separating?

I'll be 40 weeks on Friday and am hoping my baby shows up by then. Actually that is now my guess for when our LO will show up. Trying to be optimistic hehe. Because my son was 3 weeks "early", now I'm wondering if this one is going to be really "late" since I'm already 2 weeks over when he was born! Actually I just think it would be neat if our new baby arrived on my due date b/c it's our anniversary.

Anyway, I have no signs of labour whatsoever still besides a lot of BH contractions. But I try to remember I didn't have any with my son either until just 2 days before he was born, so there's still quite a bit of time left. I just don't want to be induced if I can avoid it and hope we can have our home birth... and soon!

Wish I could take walks every day! I did that when I was pregnant with my son. It's getting chilly here and I'm too tired half the time.

I am 39w5d...so ready to meet this baby! Lots of pressure and ctrx but no baby. We don't don't internal checks so I don't know about that but externally, two weeks ago, the baby was engaged real low and now the baby is floating high! Which means nothing in the grand scheme of things but doesn't make me excited as I realize I will likely go over again this time. Discomfort is tiring! At least there is an end in sight...baby can't stay in there forever!!! So...walking, DTD, visualization, and patience is really all I have!!! I tried to get chiro to do accupunction but won't without OB referral and as UCers, I don't have one of those!!! So, my patience will have to be enough. I tried castor oil Friday evening and NOTHING happened! Figures it would be me, the one with the super sensitive stomach, who would be immune to something like that! Anyways...good to know I am not the only one awaiting the arrival of my little blessing!

I'm considering buying a couple of the MP3 tracks from Hypnobabies. Has anyone ever used these and do you think they're worth it?

Thanks for the advice! I keep doing hands and knees but no change in her position just yet. I'm worried that sine I have an anterior placenta I'm destined to have a posterior baby

Is it possible to just have one contraction in a nighttime? I'm pretty sure I woke up to just one contraction. The pain when from side to side around under my belly and was very cramp-like. Then either I slept through others or it never happened again. This morning I'm just sore as usual and nothing else is happening.

FWIW I did go for a long walk, DTD & insert 2 EPO vaginally before bed last night. Perhaps those things just all collided at that moment? I have no idea what time it was.

Back from the OB's and I'm 3cm's and 75% effaced. She said she'll be surprised if I make it to my induction date in a week. Aside from last Friday where I was contracting pretty good for a few hours, theres been nothing exciting to report at all.
