2.5mo night time nursing?

So, my DS2 is an absolutely amazingly wonderful sleeper. To the point that I'm semi-worried - last night he slept from 9:30-10pmish till 6am, straight, for the second time (though the previous two nights he woke at 3-4amish to nurse after going to sleep around the same time). Without waking up to nurse or get a diaper change or ANYTHING. Is this OK? My DS1 woke every 2-3 hours to nurse for the first year or more, so this is absolutely bizzare and kind of worrying to me. At the same time, mind you, its awesome!! So... erm... would you be worried? Should I wake him up and have him nurse? I really, really don't like that idea (I'm LOVING having 6-8 hours of sleep straight), but this 8 hour stretch has me kinda worried. I mean, DS2 at 2.5 months is sleeping better than my 2.5yr old!!

If it were me, and if I were confident that he were getting enough milk in a 24-hour period, I wouldn't worry. I also wouldn't expect this sleeping pattern to necessarily last forever (around 4 months many babies start waking up more often).

I really think he is getting enough milk - he seems to get fussy & do a lot of nursing in the couple hours before he goes to sleep (starting after dinner ~7-9 or 10) and then when he wakes up at 6 or so we tend to just lay in bed and nurse for a good hour or more. And he nurses every 2-3 hours all day long... its just that one super long stretch from 9-3 or 4 or even 6!!

I would let him sleep.

DS did that and it was like you said, absolutely amazing! I knew he was getting enough, due to wet and dirty diapers, and the feast that happened in the morning when he woke up that more than made up for sleeping through the night and missing a feeding. DS goes to bed at 6:30, he's almost 4 months now, but this happened when he was about 2 1/2 months old, too. He slept from 6:30 p.m to 6 a.m. for about 2 weeks straight! But they regress, or else it was just a tease; he still goes to bed and wakes up at the same time but now he's back to waking up at night to nurse again.

Enjoy the sleep, he'll let you know if he's hungry!

Pooping peeing and gaining well? I'd let him sleep. Because you know at 4 months the night waking starts again - enjoy the sleep while you can!

My 6 mo DS did that off and on around the same age. ENJOY it while it lasts

Story

When my son was 7 weeks old--he slept through the night for the first time. About 10pm - 6am or so I think. I woke up and shook my DH awake, "Honey, the baby slept the whole night!" And then I went back to sleep.

Later people asked me if I checked my son to see if he was okay. I did not check and hung my head in shame and worry at my poor, poor, parenting.

My son is now 6 years old, happy, and smart. I still don't check him but sometimes peek in his room when is asleep for a quick forehead kiss just because.
